COVID-19 Updates

We would like to thank our fantastic colleagues for their commitment and efforts during what has been a very difficult week. We would also like to thank our customers and suppliers, some of whom we know would have faced some disruption during this period. We fully acknowledge things have been very difficult for many.

As we manage our business through these rapidly changing times, we are trying to balance many things. Firstly, our priority to protect employees and their health, wellbeing and safety as well as other important needs including protecting colleagues’ livelihoods, supporting customers, many of whom are self-employed and rely on us, and of course the critical need to support the nationwide response to the Covid-19 crisis.

It is increasingly clear to us that we now need to make significant changes.  I am announcing that we will shut down our manufacturing, distribution and logistics operations today27th March, for period of 3 weeks with a provisional date of Monday 20th April to restart operations; this date will obviously be kept under review. It is our intention is to stop all customer deliveries, other than a few essential deliveries, from Friday morning.

None of the decisions we have had to make over the last few weeks have been easy. However, I hope you know that our primary concern and thoughts are with the health, safety and wellbeing of all our colleagues across Weber, their families, our customers and suppliers we work with every day.

The country is facing the biggest battle that this generation will probably see against an invisible enemy; it will impact our way of life, not just today but into the future. Please do everything you can to take care of yourselves, your family and friends, and the more vulnerable in our communities over the coming weeks.

Thank you again for your commitment, support and dedication to our business and I very much hope that we will be able to open our business up fully again in the not too distant future.

We want to play our part in helping the country overcome this crisis and are committed to positive actions to support colleagues and customers in this collective effort.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday evening [23rd March] we took the decision to close our manufacturing facilities while we sought urgent clarification from the UK Government about how we could operate our business within the Government guidelines.

I can confirm that we will be re-opening all our UK manufacturing plants with effect from tomorrow, Wednesday 25th March, whilst taking measure to protect our people, our customers and suppliers.

We are introducing further social distancing and hygiene measures widely across our plants, and there will be some restriction in operations in order to limit the risk to all our colleagues’ health and wellbeing.

Through an extraordinary time, our colleagues have risen to the challenge and we are truly grateful for all their efforts and dedication. We will continue to keep you updated.

Proof of Delivery

At Weber, we're committed to serving you responsibly during these unprecedented times, whilst observing social distancing guidelines to ensure the welfare of all our customers and colleagues.

As you know, our drivers must collect a proof of delivery. In order to practice this safely, we are asking that during this time our delivery drivers can ask for the full name of the person accepting the goods and will then continue to self-sign on behalf of the customer.

Should you need to check proof of delivery at a later date, all of our deliveries are made on tracked vehicles and are updated via our transport portal as per normal.
