Aviva Stadium - Dublin

The uppermost concern in redeveloping the oldest international rugby venue in the world was minimising the impact of the stadium on the environment.

Weber materials were used throughout the building due to their proven quality, longevity and attention to detail. A soft subtle grey acrylic render covered the single skin internal and curved feature walls. With a capacity of in excess of 50,000 spectators, impact damage was a defining factor so webertherm XL was specified which is a heavy-weight, thick coat, traditional render system incorporating high grade stainless steel expanded metal lath.

Thermal properties of the stadium were greatly improved using 80mm thick phenolic foam insulation boards, achieving a U-value of 0.22W/m²K. This multi-award winning stadium, including Best Eco Friendly Building at the LAMA Awards 2011, Green Awards - Green Building Award 2011 and Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland - Best Leisure Building 2011 is a prime example of how Weber can assist in sophisticated designs to deliver modern, sustainable structures.
