The new ‘Green Homes Grant’ is a £2 billion fund which will give homeowners the opportunity to upgrade the energy efficiency of their homes with help from the government. Successful applicants to the scheme will receive up to two thirds of the cost of approved renovations, capped at a maximum of £5,000. For low income households, up to 100% of the cost of the works will be covered, up to a maximum of £10,000.
All installers and tradespeople who carry out any works under the grant scheme must be TrustMark approved, which will give homeowners the peace of mind of knowing that the renovations are being carried out by a qualified tradesperson. If you're thinking of applying for the grant you'll need to have a quotation from a TrustMark registered contractor before you start your application. You can find your local TrustMark registered contractor on the TrustMark website.
