Discovering your chemical potential
Sarah Lowe, a Development Chemist at our Flitwick plant recently attended an event hosted by Chwarae Teg, a charity that works to inspire, lead and deliver gender equality in Wales.

The day was focused on careers in chemistry, called “Discovering your chemical potential”, and was delivered to 120 girls from Year 7 & 8 from four different schools in Wales. The programme was designed to encourage more girls to take up GCSE and A-Level Chemistry.
There was a range of activities organised, including a variety of chemistry-related activities and workshops for the girls to take part in. Sarah was involved in the role model panel which allowed her to talk about her career and influences. Following from this she hosted a short table-top cement chemistry demonstration for the girls to try out. The event took place at the University of South Wales in partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry.
