We're the original manufacturers of monocouche – or one coat through-coloured renders – in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Dating back to 1992 when we brought it over from its origin country, France, we've built our reputation on not only great renders but also a full package of support.
We asked our customers about why they continue to use the original monocouche render, take a look below...

Where it all started...
We brought monocouche render to the UK & Ireland from France way back in 1992. It ended up being so popular that our headquarters and factory in Flitwick was built just three years later in 1995 to keep up with demand.
Timeline
Where it all began
1992: Monocouche render introduced from France under Fred Beaurain
Monocouche memories
"I remember when bottle tops screwed to a float with a combination of a saw blade was used to scrape the render! This all changed when lots of British plasterers went to work at Euro Disney in Paris and brought back skills with pumps and monocouche renders such as the Weber & Broutin product."
Setting up in Flitwick
1995: New factory built in Flitwick
1996: Weber joined the Saint-Gobain group. The company became Saint-Gobain Weber
Monocouche memories
"When the first product formulation was launched, it was really ahead of its time as it was marketed for machine application and although fit-for-purpose, little to no one had pumps! We built a small list of contractors to grow the use of spray applied monocouche render including Spray Force (now CRS) and Pinnacle Plastering (now Pinnacle Spray Renders)."
Monocouche memories
"We built a relationship with M&H Plant Hire the first company to import spray pumps, who also offered a hire service and training."
"If my memory is right there were just 4 machine applicators in the UK when we launched, with Pinnacle Plastering (now Pinnacle Spray Renders) being one of them, they carried out work in Letchworth with Matthew Homes there was 1000’s of metres of roughcast render."
Perfecting the range
