How many shades of grey for rendering?

How many shades of grey for rendering?

Super chic and totally modern, grey is the colour of the moment. Grey exteriors are now a staple in any discerning homeowner, self-builder or architect’s palette with the colour being a key element across numerous architectural looks and styles.

Grey is an on-trend, yet timeless colour

Grey is an on-trend yet timeless colour for any façade – whether going for a modern grey house or a charming classic style. Grey can be used liberally as a statement colour — check out how webersil TF in Welsh Slate defines this modern self-build dark grey rendered house — but it's more commonly being used as a neutral base instead of the standard Cream or Ivory. Take a look at how this light grey rendered commercial refurbishment in Dublin has been improved using our webertherm XP scraped system (EPS) in Pearl Grey with Stone Grey detailing.

Using a mix of styles on a project

Choosing an external render colour for a building is a big undertaking. If you're unsure, consider using it as a feature panel on an elevation using the a thin coat façade system and if you don't love it, you can always paint it with a different colour using webersil P.

You can even consider mixing rendered sections with brick sections using a thin coat brick system which uses weberwall brick as the brick-effect finish – Sanded Slate and Sanded Black are excellent choices to complement your design.
